The Dallas Children’s Advocacy is one of the first advocacy centers to be established in Texas. The state of Texas has more than 67 centers of varying sizes and scopes of services. First located in a renovated three story Victorian home on Swiss Avenue, the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center opened its doors in February 1991 and served 725 alleged child abuse victims during its first year. In January 2013, the agency moved to a state-of-the-art 56,000 square foot facility following an $11 million capital campaign. In 2014, the agency served more than 4,000 children and their non-offending family members.
