sculptures of varying sizes.
There is no size minimum or maximum.

via a video.

sell best if the retail value of the piece is under $10,000.
Q:

A:
There will be 6 featured works in the live auction as well as 3
vacation packages.
(Please
note that this is subject to change as the event approaches.)
Q:
Who selects the artwork featured in the silent and live
auction?
A:
An Art Committee consisting of local Dallas artists, patrons of
the arts and art gallery directors will select the artwork featured in
the auction.
Although the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) and the ART
+ Advocacy team are grateful for the generosity of any artist and/or
donor who donates to ART + Advocacy, due to limited space at the event,
some artwork may not be selected for the auction.
Again, the Art Committee will make the final determination on
which artwork is featured at ART + Advocacy.
Q: What
are the criteria for artwork to be considered for the live auction?
A:
The artwork must be a
minimum of $2,500. The
artist and/or donor needs to submit other artwork from the artist
that is greater than or equal to the amount of the donated artwork for
the ART + Advocacy auction.
This provides a price precedent for the Art Committee so that
they can make a more informed and equitable decision.
It is strongly encouraged for an artist and/or donor who would
like to submit artwork for the live auction to send multiple jpegs of
their work to Angie Spence,
aspence@dcac.org who will in turn
send the jpegs to the Art Committee.
This will also help the Art Committee in making their selection of the
live auction items. Lastly,
for a work to be selected for the live auction, it must be an original
piece.
It cannot be a giclée or print.
Q:
What are the benefits of donating to ART + Advocacy?
A:
the ART + Advocacy “Submit Your Artwork” page, which includes the
benefits of donating to ART + Advocacy.
Q:
Will artists and/or donors who submit pieces for the silent
auction receive free tickets to ART + Advocacy?
A:
The DCAC would love to extend tickets to all of the generous
artists and/or donors who donate to the ART + Advocacy auction.
However, due to the limited space at Three Three Three First
Avenue, the DCAC cannot provide free tickets to the artists based on
their donation(s).
However, a 50% discount can be negotiated upon request.
Q:
Will artists and/or donors who submit pieces for the live auction
receive free tickets to ART + Advocacy?
A:
Yes, 2 tickets will be given to artists and/or donors whose
work is selected for the live auction.
Q:
Who decides where artwork is displayed at the auction?
A: An
Art Committee consisting of local Dallas artists, patrons of the arts
and art gallery directors will determine where each piece of artwork
will be placed at the auction.
Q:
Will Art + Advocacy feature auction items other than artwork?
A:
With
the exception of trips in the live auction, the auction will feature
only art. The reason for
focusing solely on art in the auction is to underscore the importance of
art and its unique role in healing the child abuse victims treated at
the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
Q:
What are the delivery/pick up options for artwork?
A:
A DCAC Staff member will contact the artist/contact person within
5 business days of being notified about delivery of the auction item or
request for the auction item to be picked up. Because the DCAC values
your contribution, we ask that you please bubble wrap the artwork in
order to prevent any damage in delivery.
If an artist can deliver their artwork to the DCAC, the location
of the DCAC is: 3611 Swiss Avenue, Dallas 75204.
If the artist cannot deliver their piece, a DCAC Staff member
will schedule a date and time in which to pick up the artwork.
Q:
What is the
Art committee doesn't select my art, or it doesn't sell at the auction?
A: Any artwork that is not showcased or sold at the
auction will be returned to the artist/gallery.
Q: Who
can I contact about donating to ART + Advocacy?
A:
Please contact Angie Spence at
aspence@dcac.org or 214.818.2651.
