Elizabeth Amaro - She started her career as an artist as early as 13 years old when she worked on her first mural in her elementary school, St. Thomas Aquinas. She went on to continue her studies at Booker T. Washington Arts Magnet. She then attended Southern Methodist University and received a Bachelor of Fine Art, exhibiting throughout the university. Shortly after, she began exhibiting in local galleries and cultural centers such as the Latino Cultural Center, Bath House, and The Women's Museum in Fair Park. She has painted commissions for companies such as Frito-Lay, Cadbury Schweppes, Baylor's Our Children's house and Children's Hospital. Aside from painting murals and commissions, she has worked with both children and adults, teaching them about art history, culture and muralism. She has worked with many non-profit organizations such as Junior Players, The Mural Arts program, and Big Thought to bring art into school districts that no longer have it in their curriculum. She is currently freelancing as a muralist and non-profit teacher, aside from her position at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
