Born and raised on a ranch in East Texas, self-taught artist George Fowler believes in the Constructivist notion that art should be based on spiritual expression. A practical background in mechanical engineering can be seen in much of his work. Two main themes in his work are the synchronicity of disparate elements as well as the contrast of beauty and relative permanence metal affords the sculptor. He frequently visits the theme of mechanical elements made beautiful in meaning and aesthetically.
