SLEEP EXPERTS DONATES PROCEEDS FROM APRIL MATTRESS SALES TO DALLAS CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER 

Dallas, Texas - April 2, 2010 – Dallas / Fort Worth mattress retailer Sleep Experts is lending a helping hand to Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center during National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Throughout April, the company is donating a portion of proceeds from every mattress sale to DCAC and is supporting a public awareness campaign to help educate and empower North Texans to join the fight to prevent child abuse. 

“At the very heart of Sleep Experts is a commitment to helping families in need through partnerships with the great nonprofit organizations serving our community,” said Christine Cook, wife, mom and president of Sleep Experts. “This month we dedicate our efforts to supporting DCAC and their mission to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and provide national leadership on child abuse issues.”

 “Each year, nearly 6,000 children are victims of child abuse in Dallas County,” said Lynn Davis, president and chief executive officer of Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. “Each of us has a role to play in creating a community in which EVERY child is safe from harm.  We encourage everyone this month to learn more and help us spread the word about preventing child abuse.”

Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center is a nonprofit public/private collaboration that provides a coordinated, multi-agency approach to the investigation, intervention, and treatment of child sexual and physical abuse.  DCAC provides education and resources to parents and the community, as well as therapy and support for abused children and their families.  

Sleep Experts supports the D/FW community through partnerships with more than 20 area nonprofit organizations that nurture and care for children and families in crisis.  Through the company’s Rest Assured mattress donation program, every customer’s old bed is recycled and donated to one of these organizations.  To date, Sleep Experts has provided more than 6,000 beds to the community and donated over $400,000 in recycled mattresses, resulting in over a million nights of sleep for thousands of families in need. In addition to mattress donations, the company supports its community partners through volunteer events, community charity drives, and public awareness campaigns made possible through its media partnerships with D/FW radio and television stations.
