Special Thanks to Maximo for Their Generous Support of the DCAC

On Saturday, January 24th, restaurateur Mark Maguire, his staff at Maximo and chef partner Amador Mora opened their doors for the grand opening of Maximo Cocina & Mexicana Lounge, in which ALL of the proceeds from the evening benefited the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. Located just north of the Galleria at Noel and Alpha, attendees of this event enjoyed the unique tastes of Maximo's upscale Mexican dishes from well-known chef Amador Mora who previously worked at Trece and The Mansion.

Owner Mark Maguire spared no expense in opening up his restaurant to friends of his and the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. Nearly 300 guests enjoyed a delicious variety of Amador Mora's specialties: Snapper Ceviche, Ahi Tuna Mexi-Wraps, Alberta's Enchiladas (filled with baked potato, bacon and jack cheese), Oven Roasted Beef Tenderloin, Grilled Beef Fajitas, Cochinita Pibli (slow-braised pork), along with an endless supply of Maximo's specialty margaritas and other signature cocktails. These savory menu items are a mere sampling of what was served throughout the evening; the full menu - worth checking out - clearly affirms Mark's generosity and the distinctive tastes which Maximo offers to guests.

In addition to providing an assortment of fantastic dishes served by his knowledgeable and spirited staff, Mark Maguire and his team complemented the food and drinks with a mariachi and flamenco band, capping the evening's festivities.

The restaurant's décor added to the great experience that most guests expressed about the evening. It reminded Sarah Eveans from D Magazine's blog, Side Dish, of Javier's Cigar Bar with its "cozy" feel, full of "leather coaches and archways".

Maximo undoubtedly provides a refreshing option in North Dallas for Mexican food connoisseurs. That said, although the evening showcased Mark Maguire's observable talent and affinity for good food, perhaps just as important, the event reflected his generosity through his desire to support the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. DCAC was grateful to partner with Mark and his team at Maximo for a wonderful evening, one which successfully raised over $16,000 for the Center and its life-changing programs. The Dallas Children's Advocacy Center sincerely thanks Maximo for supporting the organization and its mission to end the cycle of abuse in Dallas County.
