The Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center provides multi-disciplinary
training to professionals whose job-related duties affect
the physical and emotional protection and treatment of children.
The Center utilizes graduate and postgraduate interns and
serves as a training and educational model in the area of
child abuse for the State of Texas and nationwide.
The annual internationally recognized Crimes
Against Children Conference is presented by DCAC in
cooperation with the Dallas Police Department. This 3 1/2
day event leads the nation to provide education & training
for front line professionals investigating, treating, and
prosecuting child abuse cases.
“Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse” seminars
are conducted for human service organizations, school counselors, nurses and teachers from
throughout Dallas County. Third-year medical students,
during their pediatric rotation at the University of Texas
Southwest Medical Center, receive training on recognizing
and reporting child abuse and neglect and the multi-disciplinary
approach used in the Advocacy Center model.
DCAC's commitment to education also extends into our community.
We host Community Forums, workshops and participate in agency
fairs in to increase educational outreach and public awareness.
We are available to consult with your organization or civic
group to discuss programming that would bring information
about this important issue to you. Please contact
