Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center 101*
Familiarizes community members with the multi-disciplinary team model used at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center to investigate and prosecute child abuse cases as well as to treat abuse victims, both children and non-offending family members. (15 – 30 minutes)
Keeping Your Children Safe From Harm in the Real and Virtual World*
Perfect for a “lunch and learn” at a place of business, place of worship, or for any community members/parents who want to learn the basics about DCAC and keeping children safe. A 24-minute video is followed by facilitated discussion. (1 hour)
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse
This seminar teaches individuals who work with children on a daily basis about the signs and symptoms of child abuse. DCAC’s Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training is video-based and highly interactive. This curriculum is designed to allow one or more members of an organization to receive training and consultation on teaching Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse to the staff of their respective organization. Participants will learn facts about child abuse, how to recognize physical and behavioral signs of the varying forms of child abuse, as well as many other important details on making a report. (1 – 1.5 hours)
